should i rebuild a 2ws 3406e or change to a 6nz c15

if you have a good core laying there the crank will work in the 2ws. the only thing to look for is the drive gear on front of crank. the 2ws has helic cut timing gears(cut at an angle). that 6nz you found will bolt right in with no modifications except for bellhousing if it comes out of a different truck mfg. it might not though. that is not a bad price for the 6nz if it has that kind of mileage.

 

Turn the crank.
Replace the rod or inframe it now.
I would rebuild it myself.

 

if the core you have is a 2ws and in good shape use it as a base to rebuild instead of swaping the cranks less work that way. I have never been a big fan of turning cranks to take an oversize bearing. when the mech rebuit that #6 hole did he replace with a full liner pack or just parts of one?

 

if you know what your doing, why throw $$$ at someone else?
