Hi friend, my mind is always going nonstop so while I am waiting around for school to start I am planning ahead. Ever since I began planning for everything, things seem to go more smoothly than just jumping out there.

NO, no and no. Repeat after me NOOOO.

Not worth the hassle. They may or may not pay the rent, you may invite drugs, drunks, slobs or whatever into you home. Been there, done that and got burnt.

    Ms.Jesse and Nycmex77 Thank this.

If you are renting a room, you need a rooming house license.I owned a licensed rooming house 10 years ago, what a nightmare.Even if you know the person, put everything in a written rental agreement. The money that you get may not be worth the aggravation of dealing with a tenant. If they stop paying rent and you have to go to court to evict them it can take up to 3 months to get them out.Because you are OTR you won't be able to do do it yourself and will have to pay a lawyer to handle the eviction.
Watch the movie Pacific Heights before you make your decision.Your name may be on the deed but once you allow a tenant into your house they have more legal rights then you think.Definitely not worth the aggravation IMO.

    Everett Thanks this.

Ditto what whosedog said. If you think women are a better solution (I _am_ one, so don't throw things at me for being un-PC), see the movie Single White Female as well.

NO WAY! Not a good Idea!! When you get back off the road you may not have a house to come home to.

I know a guy did this and placed cameras everywere in the house ok, except the bedroom and bathroom, state law, he then would check up on the house vie his blackberry, if something was not right, he would let them know, but my qustion is how is your ins gonna do on this, would they be willing too sign a paper too this effect, or waiver saying not liable for damages, but for me, i wouldnt want the worry about someone in your house, not worth it , being up all night worrying about it, i would more worry about my task at hand, like driving, getting on there on time, you be home every 4-9 week's anyway, they do have adt , you can rent by month , goes right too your phone too, to babysit your house, myself i think well worth the price, for fire, windstorms ect, :biggrin_255:
