I would do a little research on prices, such as truckpaper, craigslist,or maybe your local library may have nada priceguide for commercial vehicles,so you can get an idea what its worth.Nice looking setup, shouldnt have to much trouble selling.Good luck!
I would get it appraised. I know of a finance company that I could probably get her to do it for free. But you would need to try and find a few things out about it. (Hopefully he kept excellent records) ie.: engine,(Model and Horsepower) and date of last overhaul. Transmission model # and if any work done to it, rearend make and model# and ratio, and if any work done to them. they also want to know interior detail, exterior detail, Wheelbase, etc.
Crotts Trucking, I had not considered getting it appraised that is a good idea. With my father that truck came before ANYTHING else. He kept it immaculate, it had a complete overhaul in 2008. I can get the rest from all the paper work he kept also my mother kept pretty good records of everything he had done to the truck.
Park the truck for now. There is no freight and you will end up disliking trucking. If you sell it now you will get peanuts for it. Hold on to it until trucking picks back up to make a decision. The truck is paid for and it was your fathers. Just sit on it for now and do nothing. Timing is everything and right now is not your time.
Khund.... something else you could do: Take the Serial Number from the Title, or other documents I'm sure you have, but take the serial number to a Pete dealer. They should be able to tell you literally "everything" about the truck as it was from the factory.
MilkMan, thanks the Peterbilt shop here in Joplin knows my fathers truck very well. Dad spent more time there when he was home than at home. I will try calling them to see if I can get all the stats on the truck.
