Well, he has already posted in this thread. So I would assume he would respond. Any reason you know of why he wouldn't? I mean I didn't want to disturb his Rand McNally thread. So I asked him a question in this thread just to try to be courteous.

Here is something strange. I deliver tomorrow in Amarillo, TX and then pick up a new load in Amarillo, TX going to the Wal-Mart DC in Cheyenne, WY. I'm at the Pilot already over here for the night.

Anyway, I plugged it into the 730 and it would route me every which way but up US 287, which is the way I always go from here. So I tried to force the 730 to go up US 287, but when it gets to Lamar, CO it takes a detour to the East that adds about 40 miles to the trip.

It seems the stretch of US-287 from Lamar, CO up to Eads, CO is avoided or something for some reason. When I zoom in I can see a checkered flag on that stretch of highway. Nevertheless, nothing I do will force the 730 to route up that stretch of highway.

Anyway, does anyone knows what's up with that? Is anything going on over there that I don't know about or is it just another fluke in the routing?

Meanwhile, when I switch to car mode, it goes up US-287 to I-70 all the way, but I do have to set a via point in that stretch of road for it to go that way, but at least it goes. Hence, I'll just have to route myself in car mode when I get ready to go tomorrow. But anyway I thought that was strange.

Thanks for the information. I just read your post and tried to make a comment but I guess I did something wrong. Anyway I wanted to know if what Rand McNally told me by phone is true. They said that if you go to "System Settings" that you can actually change the font size to see better the letters and numbers across the gps on the 740. Is this true?

Anyway, I'll make my delivery at the Wal-Mart DC tomorrow in Cheyenne, WY. Meanwhile, to route up here from Amarillo, TX today, I had to route in car mode because my 730 would not route up US-287 in truck mode for nothing, even when I tried to force it to by creating ship via points, and at the bad spot in the route where it wouldn't route, which was in Eads, CO, I stopped at that new Loves over there for a break. Anyway, I wonder what's up with the 730 and why it wouldn't route up US-287, which is the way I always go.

I did. It was the first thing I checked.

Anyway, I just put it in car mode to create my route. No big deal. Although it did take a little time trying to force my route. I'll let Rand McNally know about it next time I hook it up to my laptop.

Anyway, I found two great reviews on youtube on the TND 740. Here they are:

I have not discovered that. Not saying it isn't possible just haven't found that feature. Very good feature if it is true.
