Lol! Thanks for the videos; The lady at Rand McNally assured me that all the problems with the 740 where fix... But I didn't believe her. Maybe they did fix some; but I still want to see and hear from other drivers there experience. Specifically the ability to change the font size! Thanks again.

I have been doing work on the truck and bookkeeping for the last 2 weeks plus so haven't had time to monkey around with my GPS. I will though and if I find something I will add it to this thread.
Personally I do not think such a feature exists.

So I'm narrowing down to waiting for the new Garmin 785 to come out or get a 740/540/Overdryve 7 Pro. God I wish it were easier to make this decision. I haven't seen that many good reviews on the OverDryve 7 Pro so it makes me weary of pulling the trigger on that one. The 540 seems like a better option as it doesn't have the magnetic mount problems but then I have to worry about reading the dang text. The plus side of the 540 I have more options to put it in different places in my truck :p. Help me decide!!

Another option is getting a samsung galaxy tab s3 and using routing software but I'm not sure how accurate that will be either. :(

In my opinion if you're going to purchase the 7 Pro... I would make the purchase straight from Rand McNally. This way your chances of getting a bad GPS are much less! If you make the purchase at a truck stop; you might get one of the GPS that first came out and has all kinds of problems. ( Just my opinion).

I would recommend not buying the overdryve models, as too many of my friends that bought them ended up regretting their decisions. Moreover, since you already have a Samsung tab s3, why would you want another cheap tablet? Just buy the stand-alone models. However, due to the piss poor display in the new 540 and 740, I'd find a new 730 or 530 and buy one of those instead.

On the Garmins, the biggest complaint I hear all the time is the point of interests database is very outdated and the Garmins also won't route to them correctly. So if you can live without having an up to date POI database and a device that won't guide you to them correctly, then go with the Garmins.

I don't have a galaxy tablet s3 I have an s2. I decided to go for the deal Loves and TA is having on the Garmin dezl 770. So I'll have my my Rand McNally TND 730, Garmin dezl 770, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy tablet s2 as my arsenal at my fingertips as well as, first and foremost, my atlas.

I'll probably upgrade to the new Garmin 785 once I see the reviews and they're good.

Hey, give us a good review on that new dezl 770 and let us know how it does finding truck stops and if it guides you directly to them. I heard a lot of complaints about that and just want to see if it is true. Also, let us know overall how it does relative to the 730. I'm looking to buy something, but it won't be a 740.

For sure I definitely will. I have a couple smartphone/tablet apps I'll be using as well to see which does what best. I'm curious myself to see what each one's strengths and weaknesses have.

I didn't know that Garmin has put out a new gps 780/785.
I was trying to look up some videos; and please correct me if I'm wrong. The only new features that it has is the magnetic mount, Elogs and the dash cam?

The Garmin 780/785 won't be out till June so for now the dezl 770 will have to fill that void for me. I am quite excited about the features the 780/785 will be bringing.
