If a place charges I dont stop. I spend no money. Good safe parking is scarce now days and the thought of paying just pisses me off.if its a mom n pop ill always buy something but TAs pilots loves... i may and i may not

I could foresee problems enforcing parking fees. What are they gonna do, put up gates at the entrances and exits to keep people out? Tow a bunch of trucks away for not paying? It's private property so it's not like they could write you a parking ticket either. Then you'd get people (rightfully) complaining about the quality of the lot now that they're paying for it. It just seems like it would create more problems than it would solve if you're the big truck stop chains. They frankly don't care if a couple owner-ops are pouty about not finding a spot after fueling. They already got your money anyway, and they want those lots full every night because they're banking on most of those guys coming in and spending money even if it's not for fuel. The free parking spot is the carrot to get you in there. Once the carrot is gone I'm doing everything I can to avoid the place.

Hell yes charge to park but give driver's free parking if they patronize the place. as driver's we ##### about not getting paid for this or that but some how think someone else should give us something.. i would be willing to pay as long as i am getting value for my money.. and a receipt... lol
