We can make horrid scenarios with just about anything I guess. Could say the same but replace it with empty beer cans instead of a smoldering roach in the ashtray. This thread is just exactly like the end of a safety meeting. First there is always one that wants to prolong the misery with a question. Then, just as sure as death and taxes, the conversation gets off topic and everyone going at it. LOL Good luck to you all out there and stay safe! Drive like what you love most is sitting next to you and around you. RockinChair, sorry for your loss man. I mean no disrespect. Just trying to make a point.
Should we be able to use cannabis on our time off?

God Bless, sir.
My question to all is - if a CDL Driver user cannabis and/or alcohol RESPONSIBLY on their off-time, if completely legal and in compliance of the federal law, should it be allowed?
if so - why? If not - why?BillyBobFrank, Northern Nomad, RockinChair and 1 other person Thank this. -
*uses not user

In theory the answer is yes but in reality it is a no. What I mean is if a person is 100% not affected by the alcohol or cannabis then yes they should be allowed but we are unable to currently really determine when a person is 100% not mentally affected by cannabis, I think with the large increase in use and the legalization that is taking place we will get some large medical studies done on the brain that will help to answer the question but currently I would say no that a active CDL holder should not be allowed to use it because of the potential for additional risk of accidents do to the use of cannabis.

No, because THC and/or its metabolites can be released back into the body at a later time due to it being stored in fat cells.tscottme Thanks this.

Interesting point. Thanks.RockinChair Thanks this.

Bottom line is, it most definitely should be allowed. With some answers I see, it is pointless to respond to them. LOLNorthern Nomad Thanks this.

Why do we need an answer before the law changes? If every CDL driver agreed it was OK to smoke weed and drive after X waiting period, until the law changes you are volunteering for losing your job and much more. I can't think of a better IQ test than that.

Does the weed crowd not see how increasing numbers of weed users helps the over-controlling govt. If you were in charge of a huge number of people wouldn't you want all of them to be sleepy, unmotivated, satisfied to eat junk food instead of political activism, etc? It's like the wolves are convincing the sheep to eat certain flowers to improve the taste of the lamb. You are doing exactly what "The Man" wants you to do and you pay the consequences. You are the farthest thing from a rebel, you are a self-marinating sheep.

Wow, there sure are a lot of people brainwashed by the Nancy Regan anti-pot eggs in the frying pan commercials that are purported to be the end-all actual fact of what happens to every human that puffs on the debil weed.
Northern Nomad, Sandwedge4 and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this.
