Should yearly hair follicle testing be mandated as a condition of retaining CDL

I love poppy seed muffins, I ate a whole box once and wondered if they actually showed up as opioids in drug tests. Did some quick googling and figured out it was indeed a risk. Man I worried for the next week that I was going to get pulled in for a random.
You pop positive for opioids , no one and I mean no one is going to believe your story about muffins

 

Lady at my church when i was 16, had been in jail for weed, had a random drug test as part of her parole that tested positive for heroin... was poppy seed bagels, lady certainly would have loved smoking some reefer, but no way could she have afforded heroin, wasnt even a rich persons drug in our area. Parole didnt care, back in the cage.

 

So the options are irrational and obnoxious testing intervals or "everybody is driving drunk or high?"

 

For me, it was the ones that May Cause Drowsiness. May Cause Dizziness. May Cause Drowsiness and Dizziness. Careful Using Vehicle, Vessel, Machines.

 

yes, but i say quarterly and also sleep apnea testing quarterly and blood sugar quarterly, and a full DOT exam every 6 months, and a full CDL written test once per year, and a driving/skills testing once a year as well.

that oughta teach them cowboys, billy big riggers, and steering wheel holders...!!!

and keep the industry on a top tier professional tract.

 

Why make yearly hair follicle testing mandatory? The random system seems to be working fine, right? The hair follicle won't tell you anythjng different than a random piss test would. I am not much of a fan for people being punished for previous use. I don't view a one-off user the same as a habitual user. I'd say the industry has done pretty good in weeding out the habitual users.

 

I am sorry if this some but maybe we need IQ testing instead?
