if you arent kidding, please explain your thought process, alcohol is legal and we dont have 100% drunk truckers driving 100% of the time. Is it your contention that:

    A. 100% of everyone likes marijuana?
    B. No one has any self control and dont know how to just not do drugs before and during driving?

That's an odd thing to say. I don't think Canada has any drug testing and they don't seem to have a bunch of drugged out guys running trucks up there. And pot is legal there, I think.

Well drinking alcoholic beverages is legal during off time and 100% of truckers aren't drunk so ... Also I know they are working on a THC tester similar to the breathalyzer so when that happens I don't see much difference.

i don't believe we can compare the 2 countries.

maybe we just don't hear the troubles they have up there, compared to all the news we have down here.

i say keep it illegal for the USA truckers.

i see no good of this to allow them to smoke off duty, as i DO see many smoking while doing the job.

How far back can a hair follicle drug test go? The testing interval would be have to be shorter than that in order for it to serve as any kind of a deterrent.

Another strategy would be to require hair follicle testing as part of the post-accident testing protocol.

    should be:

    pre-employment

    random

    post accident

anytime the driver comes back from vacation

    or a long holiday weekend

or after a long recovery from say an operation
