I found a local CDL program in my area through a community collage. i wonder if i can use FASFA to help with the cost. Do you know of anyone who has tried getting there CDLs this way?
Should you tell your company recruiter everything?

I was honest on my app at Swift, but it had been years since I last smoked weed. There was a guy at orientation in Lancaster that they asked me to give a ride to the Greyhound bus station because he was clean but was honest about smoking within the last 6 months.
Been tested here at least 8-10 times in the last 7 months, not including school and orientation, where I was also tested. I won't even drink a beer if my PTA is set to anything within 24 hours. Not worth it.
You can and #### well better lie about it. And you better be clean. Not some fake piss, not someone else's piss. At least 3 times I've been tested they were close enough to my dick to get spray on their glasses. They WILL test you. It is mandatory for you to be a part of a quarterly testing pool and you can expect and should expect to be tested at any moment, be it in the middle of a load, on home time, whatever.
I was 30 hours into my 34 hour reset and got a call and a message on my Qualcomm that said I was to be at a facility about an hour and a half away, within 2 hours. I was at home. It was 5:30am on a Saturday.
I have been under a load and about 200 miles from nowhere and gotten a call to park at a TA for a repower of the load I was on. I was to park, drop my trailer at the truck stop, leave the bills in the box on the trailer and bobtail 30 minutes to a testing facility and piss within 2 hours.
I have been tcalling a load at the terminal and gone up to the window to hand in my bills, only to have them give the speech about how I had been randomly selected to submit to a drug screen per FMCSR such and such...
Don't think you won't be tested. You should have every opportunity to better your life and I'm all for you lying in this case... but you better make #### sure you are clean, stay clean and have transportation to and from a drug screening at any time of the day or night. If you are late, can't make it for any reason or outright refuse, you'll be unhireable. -
I think there are many different variables when it comes to getting THC out of your system. That 6 month question is just a simple question designed to ensure you are clean. Trust me no carrier wants to have to deal with a positive. Just be advised you are playing with fire. If a lab uncovers THC levels past the threshold amount they are going to send a positive result to the MRO. If this positive finds it's way to your DAC it will limit your job choices and once the MRO positive database ever gets up and running will not allow you to drive with anybody until you finish the SAP/return to duty process. Even if you finish this process some carriers will not hire you with that positive. Get off the maryjane get yourself clean and stay that way. Then you won't have to worry about a dirty piss test!

However, you may want to do these things BEFORE applying for the truck driving job of your choice, TO HELP CLEANSE YOUR BODY OF ALL IMPURITIES.
1) For the next 1 to 2 years, go onto a serious exercise regiment to get yourself into the best shape possible. You may want to contact an athletic coach to help you with this.
2) For the next 1 to 2 years, go onto a serious diet and nutrition regiment. Stick to LEAN, (90% or more FAT FREE), proteins as turkey, chicken, fish, and beef. Eat PLENTY of various fresh vegetables and fresh fruits every day.
3) For the next 1 to 2 years, STAY COMPLETELY AWAY FROM all cakes, pastries, ice creams, chocolates, candies, fruit drinks with sugar and fructose corn syrup in them, breakfast cereals with sugar in them, and highly fatty items as bacon. Also, STAY COMPLETELY AWAY FROM meats with sodium nitrates and sodium nitrites in them, such as hot dogs and various types of sausage meats.
4) For the next 1 to 2 years, DRINK PLENTY OF FRESH CLEAN WATER EVERYDAY WITHOUT FAIL. Also get into the habit of drinking herbal teas, green teas, and antioxidant teas. These teas will also help clean out your system. A good health food store can also help you out with the tea selections.
5) For the next 1 to 2 years, go to a sauna at least once a week. Be sure to DRINK PLENTY OF FRESH CLEAN WATER EVERYDAY WITHOUT FAIL, BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER USING THE SAUNA.
6) If you smoke or drink any alcoholic beverages at all, try your absolute best to totally give them up altogether.
7) If you use over the counter medicines, try your absolute best to totally give them up altogether.

He just needs to take a home test , they even have tests that you can send in a hair sample. When he's clean he can then apply for jobs. And no more cannabis. Pretty simple really.Jesster916 and born&raisedintheusa Thank this. -

You are worried that if you hang up on a recruiter, he will turn you into the DOT? You've been watching too much TV, you are the one doing mind control experiments, not the DOT! Not some lying recruiter! And your doing them on yourself. Yes, you need to get your act together for the job (and CDL school too), but much more importantly, for your new baby. I'm not picking on you, so please don't accuse me of that. I'm talking from my own experience! Learn how to live substance free, or you'll be making excuses for the rest of your life. If you have trouble quitting, get help, or find a 12 step program, where you will find people who've done the same thing you've been doing. And you'll find out how they got clean and sober, and found a better way to live. You didn't say you had a problem, but if you didn't, you wouldn't be asking these questions.
Good luck!Last edited: Jun 17, 2017

One (Former) user to another, good luck brother. There's good money to be made in this industry, and I'd rather be rich and not smoking than broke and smoking every once in a while. I'm starting my school soon, try and find a couple that do UA (urinalysis) only and then after a few months switch to a better company when you can safely pass a hair test.Jobless and RollingRecaps Thank this.
