Just to let you know, most refer companies that I am aware of wont allow pets in the truck because most food related shippers/receivers dont allow pets on the property. There are a few that do allow them, but most wont.
Sick of all the negative posts about companies

I have never had to pay for a lumper and never will.I don't trust companies with reimbursements that high.Lumpers are normally from$100.00 to $200.00 per load. Most companies have efs checks fleet one, multserv that you give to the lumper. You call your company, tell them what the lumpers cost and then you get an authorization number the lumper has to call in to the number on the check. But you MUST get a receipt from the lumper and hand that in with all your trps otherwise then yes you'll get charged for the lumper. If I ever have to pay for a lumper out of my own pocket then guess what, they load will just have remain in my trailer. It's always a good idea to get a copy of the receipt before handing it in.Far as pets, there are many companies that do allow pets, you just have to keep looking and if you see nothing on their website then ask the recruiter before doing an application.I won't driv otr with a company that don't have a pet policy.

Again, the key in most of these cases is communication. Most of the time when I talk to other drivers about issues like these the conversation starts out "That mf'er didn't reimburse me and I called and chewed his ### out"....and then you see right away why there is an issue.MadMax77 Thanks this. -
Some people are happy with very little, or are used to being treated like a slave. Some people have never had a 'good' job.
Two separate drivers can work for the same company, both with the same qualifications and work ethic, and one will be treated worse or make less money than the other. I've been on both sides.
Some of it just just the nature of the industry, different dispatchers, etc.
Generally, this industry sucks, and is going downhill, no matter who you work for.
I have had jobs I liked that weren't with 'perfect' companies.
The secret about this industry that nobody talks about, is, our only value is we are the idiots who are willing to be away from home for long periods of time, get treated like second class employees by our employer, have little home time, and are willing to work for free at times, or cover up work or wasted time we do, and not get paid for it.
This is the industry standard for what they expect put behind the wheel, but now safety is becoming more important.
You can talk about 'careers' and crap like that, but almost all of us can be replaced by some truck driving school graduate with a few months of experience, and who is usually willing to work cheaper, and have some spending money to buy chain drive wallets, bluetooth headsets, and other crap at the truck stops.
(thank god most of the truck stops don't have the massive displays of plastic cowboy boots anymore)CoalHeart Thanks this. -
Thats funny those of you calling ffe (refresher course) there is no such thing as only a 'refresher course' . You and the newbies do the exact same thing at the exact same time on the exact same course .It was put to me by the head honcho in charge Mr Peace. I dont care who you are or what you have done it means nothing to me , I dont care about your past if you signed up for this course it means your starting at the bottom. Now where in that quote I just said did you hear anything about being a refreshed driver? And as for not being paid for reimbursed for the lumpers it true on one check I had 4 lumpers totaling $345 I clearly taped all 4 reciepts to a blank sheet of paper and scanned it in the scann
er at the same time. However Mrs Carmen my payroll lady said she couldnt read it so she made the executive decision not to pay me for them without saying anything to me the only way I found out I wasnt paid for it was when they did not show up on my check ory pay stubs.I have been here 5 1/2. months and have had 6 instances of miscalculations on her behalf.Dont believe me I will put her phone number on here for all to see. -
There really is no set formula for judging a company based on Internet postings. Read the good, read the bad, make a decision and roll with it. About all you can do.

i personally have a higher opinion of myself
and like being over the road
most of the complainers never look in the mirror at the problem
