I have a refer, micro and inverter on the truck.
I stop at Wally World often and restock.
Fresh salads, healthy sandwiches, soups, cereals, and for snacks, fresh veggies.

but I'm still fat, grumpy and ugly.
    go figger.

yeah man...I sooo feel ya on that part. I'm just waiting to go home and get my taxes done so I can get a refer, microwave and start hitting Wally World for ACTUAL MEALS! Also, since this is my first solo run, I've starved so bad, it's just not good for my health....but I'm learning, I know by next outing or 2 I should have everything figured out...It's gotten to the point, for me, that I was sooo dam hungry I'd just pull into somewhere just to get something to eat! It's suppose to get better, and I'm sure it will! I work for USA and use their "fuel options" book and try to get fuel at a place has different fast food chains at it....but NOTHING BEATS an actual cooked meal! Gotta get a croclpot for some corned beef and cabbage, with carrots potatoes!!! OH HECK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try the "cooking in the truck" thread- lots of suggestions in there.

The best thing is to simply plan ahead and have something cooking while you drive, so when you stop you have a hot meal waiting for you. Or else carry foods that don't need to be cooked, such as nuts, granola bars, jerky, fruit, etc.

I have bought a small slow cooker for the truck and prepare something different everyday. Rice/chicken/vegetables etc. When Im home, I prepare each meal and bag/pack it into individual portions. Throw it into the slow cooker and few hours later you have a delicious meal. I have been spending $35 a week on food when Im on the go. Only drink water, coffee and tea. Been feeling great after quiting eating food from truck stops.

As A guy that was pulled out of their truck a li over a year ago as i was DKA,and thus spending next 4 days in a hospital and then becoming type II,I will tell you right now,if your into fast food, take the 15-30 mins to eat a healthier version of it,stop eating behind the wheel,it got me after 10+ years of it

Now I take the time to eat, really dont change my day much, alot of salads, grilled chicken(wendys is cheap and good, the go wraps)

Get off the bun, drop the carbs, eat healthy

As for me,I have dropped 45 lbs,no more acid reflux, and I sleep alot better

My health is turning to #### in the short time I've been driving. It's mostly due to the garbage food I eat because it's convenient. Between McDonalds, Subway, Flying J pizza, and pilot coffee, i feel like a triple heart bypass patient, and I'm only 30.

I stop at the large grocery stores. My local Ingles Market has a huge salad bar for $4.99/pound. They have other good stuff too, but my favorite is the salads. My triclycerides are way too high from eating too much carbs and sugars. Hopefully by replacing the bad with the good I'll lose a few pounds also.
