I also don’t agree with everything in the petition, but the underlying problem is that the sentence is far too strict. There was no criminal intent. Sure the driver was not as skilled and prepared as he should have been and that led to mistakes that compounded into a disaster. But no intent. A couple of years is sufficient.

You disagree with me? Well, maybe it’s you that makes a mistake next time and ends up in the slammer.

 

Umm, because the petition is for a fellow trucker of which many believe was incorrectly, harshly sentenced. Did that really need to be explained to you?

 

You want a pissing contest? If you knew anything, you would know the sentence followed the letter of the law. Incorrect isn't a legal term.

 

There is a crapton of criminal intent on this case it started when he chose not to take the runaway truck ramp. Criminal intent happens in a split second when a person chose not to take action that a reasonable person would take and then breaks the law. This kid was breaking the law before he killed these people.

 

Troll is not a correct term for the OP of this thread. Your post is actually the very definition of trolling which makes you a troll. Find a dictionary.

 

I would have taken it. I’m sure most of us would, but he obviously wasn’t trained well. I’m not saying he is without guilt. My position is that the sentence is overly harsh and cruel. Yes, I’m aware of the minimums.

 

I'll just leave you an image, which would be considered "evidence" in a trial. You know, a trial, where evidence is examined and stupid stuff like that. We really don't even need trials and law and all that crap when we have such brilliant minds, such as your own, to pass judgement to others.

This member is trolling the petition...look at the image. You don't even have to apologize.

 

He couldn't read English or understand English, that's a violation of the law. He was knowingly driving equipment with crappy brakes, another violation of a half a dozen or so laws. He ran by not one, not two, but three runaway truck ramps. All this resulted in him killing 4 people, injuring what, 2 dozen more, and a whole lot of property damage. Where's the petition for a hanging instead of a life sentence, I'll sign that one. He's getting off easy.

 

Should also have their authority pulled and never reinstated. This is the sort of #### regulations should be stopping.

 

Maybe it's your family he kills next time. Maybe it's you who ends up hit and God forbid left with permanent damage, and even simply broken limbs can end up as permanent damage.
