any owner/ ops that have had a company tell them to sign the front of the title and the back of the title? I am thinking of making the switch from company to owner/ op and that is one of the requirements they ask for. I was under the impression if you signed the back of the title you are basically signing the title over to whomever wants to take the truck from you.

ARE YOU BUYING TAG THRU THEM/ might have to be title in their home state, Be carefuk? If you have A loan on it Lender might not go for this deal, might be better to tag it yourself.

What exactaly does the fine print by that line say?
All titles are not the same. Read carefully.
    Good luck

I don't have a title yet as I only just asked what I needed to do to lease on to the company I work for yesterday. The person I talked to said the company will pay for the tags. I will have to write everything down today when I go in to drop this trailer and pick up my next load. I wouldn't actually plan to stay at this company for long if I do become an owner/ op as I don't like the trailer maintenance or lack there of.

Plan on buying tag in your name if your not going to finish out the full tag year, ask when their tags renew. you can spend 3,000 or more per year on tags after changing leases just a few times till you find a CO. that pays well$$$

ok thanks. I am still only looking into the options as I am not gonna do anything until after I get my tax returns but the title concern threw me when she said to sign the back of it.

I have never had to sign my title just to get tags. I just send them a cop of the front and back of it.
Something does not sound quite right with that

    Cetane+ and 281ric Thank this.

Are they financing the truck for you? They might have you sign it so a new title can be issued with them listed as a lien holder. Then when you pay it off they will sign the box releasing the lien. Take the time and read any contract/title carefully.

    281ric Thanks this.

I believe the change is only to the registered side of the title not the legal owner side.... Not that unusual when leasing on to company
