I don't find many places that give away showers. Pilot and Petro are up to $9 now.

OH is still free with your own supplies.

But both Pilot and Petro have rewards cards that give you a shower with a minimum 50 gallons of fuel. And, if you're a company driver, that equates into a free shower.

And here's a follow up question - when you do take a shower - are your valuables safe - are the showers in locked private rooms or is it army style!

Yeah, I couldn't live without baby wipes (sponge bathing). I also keep my hair short (esp. in summer) to wash with a gallon of H2O by my tractor. I have to admit that what slips with me in hygeine is teeth brushing. I do twice a day when at home, but 'lucky' to do once a day on the road!! (sigh) Do try to use tooth picks all day around gum line and gargle at night....

Showers are individual, they require a key, pass card or number code to unlock the door......or I should say all that I know about are.

Not trying to highjack this thread however since you are talking about showering it got me to wondering about washing your clothes on the road? How do you take care of this chore when on the road for a couple of weeks?

There are plenty of truckstops that have laundry facilities for the drivers to use, and you just do it on your down time, if you wanted to I am sure there are probably even situations where you could bobtail into town to do laundry and get supplies for the next week.

My hubby does not have the bobtail option so he does everything at the truckstops, once in awhile he makes a wally-world stop if they are close to the highway.

Hey if the Truckstops don't work for the laundry detail....THERE still is the OLD way....Find a creek and pound it out with a ROCK! LOL!
    (Just kidding)

Makes ya wonder how their clothes held up to such abuse.
