Hello, I need to take a Greyhound bus to my destination to begin orientation, how early should I arrive at the bus station if my bus is scheduled to leave at 10:30AM?
Regarding orientation, will they "reteach you" about trucking and then you are tested again? I did very well in school and not sure if I will be tested when I arrive or will they refresh our memories on their expectations for the test to get hired on? I read one guy on here said that his class was 12 hours, is that the normal class time for orientation? Thanks.
Simple question about any orientation and the bus ride

Orientation depends on the company. Some test some don't test until you are off your trainers truck.. Get to the bus about an hour before it is supposed to depart.. It's not like a plane, no TSA to frisk you...

how long to arrive before is largely dependent on how busy your local station is. I could have gotten away with 15 minutes befroe scheduled leave time. Half hour should be reasonable. Maybe an hour to claim a spot in boarding line.
Roughly 10 hours a day for orientation. Some were shorter. Since we were logging , they made the time fit HOS
My company was 7 day orientaion, next is up to 14 days road training(currently waiting to go out), then a final Skills Qualifying Test at my original oreintation location. -
If your bus ride is more than 10 hours, take the money and rent a car. The bus ride was the worst part of my whole experience....but it was good motivation to succeed as well.
If I had to do it again though, I would borrow money for a rental car if I didn't have it. -
Normal class time is 8-10 hours. 12 is not the norm. They will review everything you learned in school, so prepare to be bored.

Greyhound doesn't have TSA to frisk you, but if you do stop in AL, MS or LA you do have to get wanded by a security guard before you can get on the bus.

I arrived one hour early. We had to put our bags in the line for our bus to save our spot.
I picked a spot on the bus, third row back on the right. Only to find there was no leg room at all. My knees were hitting the seat in front of me the whole trip. My legs were cramped after two hours of the 14 hour trip!!!
Only after the bus emptied some did I realize that not all the rows were the same size. There were even handicap rows that had about three times the leg room. If there is no one with special needs grab one of those. Which means getting in line early so you have an early choice.
Good luck at orientation! It is not hard, just pay attention in class. it aint rocket science or brain surgery! heheheheee
MikeeeeNewNashGuy Thanks this. -
All the cool people sit in the back of the bus.

Bus trips suck!
There is nothing good about them except seeing some weird things.
My last one I had a relay in Chicago. We pulled in as the relay was leaving. I had an 18 hour layover. I walked to the Sears Tower, turned down drug deals, gave away 50 cigarettes, ate a premium dinner....
