We had the same problem and we bought a new antenna and problem solved. So you might just need a new antenna.

That happened to me, ended up that the antenna wire had become cut where it feeds through the door.

I had that happen on an older unit, called Sirius and they gave me a big story on how something might have broken inside the radio, it was not worth fixing, buy a new radio. Put on a new antenna, and has worked fine ever since!

Would the antenna from my 4 wheeler do fine or should I get the ones that mount on the mirror from the TS for my rig?

The antenna connection that is surface mounted to the PCB in the radio has a flaw. very little solder and small contact area. What happens is that over time with the vibrations in a truck the solder lets go. Then the connection becomes intermittent. This happened to my old unit. I had a second one from a major sale so I just switched my plan to the new one.
I decided that since I officially am an Electronics Engineering Technician, at least that is what my college diploma says, I would check the internals out. That is the exact issue I found. Seems like a weak spot in manufacturing.

Seeing as we put 10 years of mileage on a vehicle in a year it ends up being the same amount of abuse to these radios. So, if it lasted 2 years OTR then you got 20 equivalent years of use out of the same radio. Although I highly doubt that these radios would actually last 20 years of use in any environment. If only I could find the box with all my electronics equipment in it I could fix it pretty easily.

The wire fell out of the bottom of my Wilson antenna. I haven't fooled with it since I got a factory satellite with the new truck. I think I can solder it back in, but still...
