the wiring on the puck antenna is very fragile. Upgrade to a truck style antenna and you will be much happier. With this type of antenna you can mount it right to the visor on your truck. Remove one screw on the passenger side of the visor and mount antenna right there. You will get very good coverage in this position.

I've seen a couple yesterday that was pretty good looking. It gives you a mounting location for a clamp mount. #2 and #3

^^^ That threaded mount could probably be used in many locations.

Then you could use these antennas

Then this driver had a good idea. The bracket could easily be made. His post is on here somewhere.

I have a 2007 T600 and have mine mounted high-up inside the sleeper, since Kenworth, like all the others seem to ignore the fact that we have antenna mounting needs. Since the roof of the sleeper is fiberglass, it works quite well.

yeah I was looking at those brackets online condo, I just didnt want to pay that much money for just a little bracket that cost 5 cents to make. I guess if I want my cb back I will need to get one though.

Yeah it would be easy to make your own. I never gave it much thought. A 3" bolt and a nut or two can give you many possibilities. That mirror bracket design could be made easily and used in many locations.

yeah im thinking of removing a screw to see the right size and then hit a hardware store

another mount I saw at a truck stop that I thought was ridiculous was a vise grips mount, it was just a pair of vise grips with a small antenna mount welded on it and it was like $20 lol

As I no longer driver over the road, I do not mount my antenna in the same way. By the way, I am talking about the outside drop visor /sun visor on most trucks.

I have the same truck. I ran mine out behind the glove box, thru the passenger door, and stuck the antenna to the top of the cab on that side with 3M moulding tape from an auto parts store.
