I have XM and listen to open road for the news. All of the other shows on open road are nothing more the crybaby festivals. All it is is non truckers pretending to care and getting truckers to call in and cry.
And then the advertisements, one rip off trucking company after another. And I know, I've worked for several of them.
Truckin' Bozo used to be worth listening too but he has sold out as well.
The absolute worst is Bill Mack.
You asked and I suspect you have something to do with the programming of these shows. I was honest. -
I have XM, have had it for 2 years now. I listen to Nemo's show, primarily because he gets guests on there that have useful information. I can gain some knowledge from listening to them, so I often turn 171 on in the mornings. I listen to Landline Now some, but some days it's more of a back slapping affair and promotional campaign for OOIDA than I can tolerate.
As for Bill Mack and Bozo, I have listened occasionally, and just can't find the time in my life to waste on them and their mindless chatter. From where I sit, both of them just clutter up the airwaves, and I find it hard to believe either one could recognize a truck if they saw one out on the highway.
Number one things that ticks me off on all of the shows is the idiots that call in and waste everyone's time with inane questions that they should have learned in grade school, or before they got their learners permit. Some of these people think that they are celebrities because they call in repeatedly. But I know how to turn my volume dial down, or change channels when it gets too bad. -
I listen to quite a few channels on XM.
But mostly the Country and Bluegrass Music Channels.

Sirius has both OPen Road Cafe and Midnight Trucking, and of course is my choice.

XM 171 is awful. I used to try and listen to the Landline show, but the guy's monotone voice makes me drowsy. The Satellite Cowboy and Trucking Bozo are just terrible. Nemo is ok, but I never seem to catch his show.
And why is it that they play country music when there are no shows on? Xm already has about 10 other country stations. I would love for them to broadcast some kind of tech show or something.
I wind up listening to the news stations, Opie & Anthony, or Ron & Fez. I always catch Mad Money with Jim Kramer as well. -
I have Sirrus and the only time I listen to the trucking station is after 1:00 am.But then it`s not the best.I wish the shows were MORE dedicated to drivers instead of some of the comedy stuff they have.:smt025
