    I am a newbie about to hit the road with my first carrier.

    I have considered getting SiriusXM Satellite Radio to help pass the time while driving.

    I have an Iphone 4s and am wondering if I should just use the Iphone app and get a subscription to the internet radio, or should I pay the extra $$$ and get an actual radio..

    as long as you have unlimited data on your I-Phone you'll be ok streaming audio runs up the data usage pretty quick, I pulled the trigger on mine without thinking it thru, I bought a Sirius ready Kenwood stereo and everything is inside the dash nice and neet just like I wanted, BUT now that Ive done what Ive done, I cannot get a docking station for in the house without paying another suscription fee, just sayin....

    Get the actual radio. Besides the already mentioned data usage, the app's not going to work that great everywhere. Even on the better cell networks, data service can get sketchy in remote areas.
