I run a long nose pete and i have low ride seats. Not because its cool but because thats where i'am most comfotable driving and i have no problem seeing whats in front of me,its called paying attention. As fas as the high shifter not my thing but to each there own. I'am not into plastic Volvos or freightliners but some are. What would this country be if peolpe did not have diffrent taste in things, very lame.

Yeah, I dunno why people think they gotta jack the seat all the way to the roof to see better...

Thats what I'm saying. Were not all robots programed to like the same things in life, talk and walk the same way or look like everyone else. Everyones their own person and has their own stiyle.

Laugh if you want cause everyone needs a laugh just don't hate cause their someone always that don't like how you do things and can hate right back.

Some people still need to be a little more thick skinned if some words can hurt them.

Some people are short or have a short torsoe and longer legs but some just jack their seat up so high where a helmut is need to protect their skull from fractures when they smash their head on the ceiling when they go across some of these fine engineered bridge joints.

Some of these bridges so bad now if the bridge went out you'd be able to jump across the river and hadn't felt a difference.

So....are you saying that only company drivers keep a little air in the seat? That's just as bad as calling someone a moron because they want to raise the seat to shift and then put the seat back on the floor. Whatever floats your boat, I say. Doesn't bother me one way or another that some guys want a silly looking shifter knob with a skull and glowing eyes rubbing their ceiling.

But, I see a lot of O/Os riding higher in their seats than you prefer to. Some of the people who ride high in the seat....I wish they would put the seat on the floor. That way, I wouldn't have to see 'em.

Yeah. I didn't start this thread because I think people are stupid for lowering their seat and having a long shifter. I started it so I could learn what advantages these options could offer and get some insight and some education on the matter.

Different strokes for different folks, is right! :)

I don't know if I posted this or not, because I didn't see it here.. but I'm too lazy to look...

Here's the way I like to sit.

    I actually have two ways.

One... seat high enough to give cushion, but not jacked up high... I do think the shifter is a hair too low, though. I'd like it to be about 2"-6" taller. I'm in a Volvo 670.

Two... seat a tad high... I do this when I don't need to shift or if my knees start bugging me so I can move my legs. I like a middle of the road height. Not really high, but not bottomed out.

Is there a kit I can buy to make my shifter just a little longer? Or is it only available to be really long?
