    Correct.

Its in the North West Frontier Province and it is connected to Afghanistan via the famous Khyber Pass. It also boarders Kashmir (the bit the English decided half would belong to Pakistan and the other half to India years ago)

It's quite remote, mountainous and its said to be a favoured haunt of Mr Bin Laden as the military and law enforcement agencies arent the most diligent.

The article puts into perspective our gripes about being cut up, delayed in traffic and delivery problems. Like us no doubt these guys were only going about their business to earn money and provide for their families.

    Mrs T Thanks this.

    Well said, thank you.

I doubt if anyone on this forum has been threatened by extremists while delivering to Walmart. None of us will have had coworkers who were killed for delivering to the "wrong" community. These guys were doing the same job as everyone else here, they just happened to have the misfortune to be born and lliving in a country without the freedom and safety that we take for granted.

I believe that the families of these Pakistani guys deserve some support from the global trucking family.
They will not get the financial support or shows of respect that they might have gotten on other parts of the world.

(I'm thinking of the 4 cops shot dead in Tacoma WA a few weeks back. A huge public show of support ensued, and I'm guessing their families will receive some form of financial compensation too. Not so for these families. Neighbors will be too scared to support them, in fear of being seen as supporting those who angered the extremists.)

I would like to see this thread continue with messages of support for these families. Maybe we can even find a way to contact them more directly, and send letters.
And if we can find a safe route of sending financial help, I'll put in the first $50 myself.

At the risk of sounding mean, I believe charity begins at home, so as long as there are AMERICANS IN OUR COUNTRY NEEDING HELP, WE SHOULD PUT OUR EFFORTS INTO HELPING OUR PEOPLE OUT FIRST!
Just like our government is NOT RESPONSIBLE for saving or policing the world, no matter how much they want to, NEITHER AM I!
sorry but they HAVE TO HELP THEMSELVES!
