I agree, Jim. Although I am concerned about dieseldan's dilema. If he is honestly being told that he can not get a steady shift, something needs to be done. My TM knows all of the TM's in NC. Since I've been with KTC, that is one thing I have never had to worry about...nobody I have ever met has ever had to worry about it. Mind you, people arent always thrilled with thier shift, and if management can still cover the work, they typically have no problem with accomodating a drivers wishes. Dan needs to say something.

Maybe they should get rid of all local management and dispatch us out of Ohio over the computers.
What a great way to save the company money-regional dispatch. -
Canton wont do anything unless their is a show of unity with the drivers at the terminal.
I dont want to say everything that happened in toledo to get change ,you never know who reads these, but I do know that all the drivers sticking together and standing their ground got results in toledo.
Here we are all on centralized dispatch out of canton. As far as I know are dispatchers take care of us,all of michigan and parts of PA. We use the cadec for everything and the billing is up to something like 50% off that darn thing last I heard.
Good luck,Jim -
WOW..Seems like KAG has become too large..
-
Yep ... too large ... nobody roots for Goliath

The main office is aware of our problems.
Please talk directly to your RM. The Corporate Office doesnt usually get involved with individual terminal operations unless something gets sent through HR. I'm willing to bet that your RM would handle it before it reaches higher levels anyway. DW may be an option.

Centralized Dispatch is ok. The only problem is that if I'm a driver and I have an issue, what is someone 500 miles away going to be able to do for me? They dont know the loading facilities, local customers, other drivers, etc. And if I'm a customer needing papaerwork, proof of delivery or anything else, I'm losing the personability of having someone local to handle my issue.

way to big -
What surprises me the most about kag is the total lack of uniformity thru-out the country. -
What surprises me the most about kag is the total lack of uniformity thru-out the country.
Why does that surprise you? KAG has many different subsidiaries. Different truck colors, different traditions within each organization. Some have different pay scales. When our investors purchase these companies, some of that is actually noted within the process. Klemm even handled their own payroll and Safety Dept for quite some time. Its really not as wierd as you think. Chevron and Texaco are the same company but still fly different logos. But I guess if I was as disgruntled as you seem to be, I would be looking for every little thing to fuss about too.
As far as your centralized dispatch views, thats typical from someone who isnt really a "people" kind of guy. Which may explain your distaste for KAG. -
You know the way are management talked we thought everyone was switching to paperless.
I would like to think that it would be easier to talk to you but you seem like a real pompass #######.
By the way its not my centralized, its kags and it will be yours to when your division catches up with technology.
