Yes, I was an Eagle Scout. Or, rather, I still am, I suppose.

I have forgotten most of my knots, but I can still remember the right way to tie a square knot, and I will never forget the bowline knot, which might well be the most useful knot ever devised.

From sailing I practiced the flying bowline knot a ton as a kid. If you hand me a rope today I still instinctively do it.
