I always wear long sleeves and during intense sunlight I have a couple cut off sleeves I add to cover wrists and a pair of cheap harbor freight gloves to protect hands.

After 10 years out here my left arm is just barely darker than my right.
I only wear a t-shirt (top half... not all of me) unless it is cold enough to require more.

Mohs surgury would have taken care of that. Google it. Worked for me. I had basal cell.

After 25+ years of driving I also had 6 spots removed from left arm and left ear and neck. Doctor had me order long sleeve UV protected shirts from Haines (only $10 a piece) to wear while driving. He also wants me to use 70 SPF sunscreen every morning on my face neck and hands. I’m fair skinned and my years of exposure have caught up with me.

It would be a lot easier to just buy a tube of sunscreen.
I use Nutragena 55. No oily mess or odor.
I am from Florida, I also fish a lot.
The dermatologist I know all pretty much say anything over a 55 SPF is not doing anymore than a 55.
And don’t believe the hype about tinted windows.

Avoid cancer easy. I only work nights past 25 years. Its awesome as no dealing with sun beating down and the majority of the idiots are parked.

This has always been a very big problem for me when in a truck, and I was always surprised at how little of an issue was ever made about it. No driving instructor or trucking orientation ever even brought it up.
I hate the feeling of sun burning my skin, so typically I get one of those really thin jackets or wear long sleeved shirts. As for hands, wear a thin glove. Keep really high rated sunscreen in the door well so you have it even if you forget to put it on, or forget to wear long sleeves. I prefer the jacket instead of smearing stuff on myself that coats and cakes on my skin, but anything is better than cancer. I'm sorry you had this happen. You might be able to collect damages for on-the-job injury from your former employer.
