Be careful of this guy, he will 1099 you and refuse to let you see any confirmation sheets. He take out truck damages from your check so he doesn't have to file an insurance claim. He does a lot of meat products for SWIFT formerly Ponderaso with 4 to 8 drops and and return loads are usually produce with average of 6 pickups anod 1 - 3 drops. No medical or dental insurance is availability. He was recently sued because some people were killed that his driver had rear ended. He expects you to run off the clock in order to make all the drops.and needless to say, if an accident happens in CALIFORNIA where most of the loads goes and you are off the clock, that my friend is manslaughter! You are paid 25 percent of the load(you will never see the rate confirmation sheet) and none for the deadheading which usually works out to be about 300 miles each round trip. I often did averages of mile start to finish and it comes out too be about .34 cents a mile....not worth a child's life for sure.

There is a Morton, Illinois, few hours south of the Windy. Star transport was from there.

If you are "forced" into signing a 1099 contract you are now self employed. By that measure, you are now responsible for providing your own benefits. I don't think he understands this, or much of anything else by reading his post.

Voodoo Pyg and Lonesome Thank this.
