Be careful with those sleep studies. Heard about some scams with companies getting guys on those machines that didn't need them.

Warning that med. is given to people that have a problem staying awake that can keep you from passing your next med. card becauce of habit forming drug use, you can do w/coast turnarounds taking provigil, if your insur. will pay for it at 15$ per pill?

Yes it is. But you have to provide the examiner with the exact same info to begin with. See article in OOIDA's Landline Magazine about this at: http://www.landlinemag.com/Story.aspx?StoryID=27988#.VIWzidLF-SoDaddydame Thanks this.

i already have a medical card good untill next year, and this was done on my own will not forced by the company, ideally i would like to resolve it and make some lifestyle changes so when that time does come i wont have an issue...

Be careful dealing with Concentra. If you have a neck size over 18 inches they automatically put you into the system as needing a sleep study. It's big money for these clinics that don't require nothing more than watching you sleep.

The FMCSA has not added the Sleep Apnea testing to the required driver physical exams. No doubt it will come at some later date. There is nothing, however, that stops your company from requiring their drivers to undergo these studies as a condition of employment. If do not have to get you physical done by a specific examiner per your company, ask questions before you even begin your exam. Before you even tell them any personal information. Find am examiner that only uses the criteria required by the FMCSA at the present time. The Cpap industry is putting a lot of money into getting these studies mandatory and are putting a lot of false information out there. They have been using the new registry of qualified examiners to feed this false info to the people doing our physicals.
