One of the doctors told me not to do weight lifting because it will build my neck size up. He stated that the power lifters are a good fit for sleep apnea but the question is do they have to take the test?

No because they don't drive a 80000 lb truck for 11 hours a day around the general public. If they fall asleep at work the worst that could happen is they drop a weight on their foot.

Ab-so-friggin-lute-lee.. The quack that told me that SHE believed I had a sleep problem could't wait to hand me a flyer for a local clinic that does the sleep study. I wonder how much of the 800 dollar cost for attending that clinic does she pocket?

Wish $800 was all it was for me. I paid more than that out of pocket.

My Doctor arranged to have the sleep study done at my house and save me about $700.00 They come to your house with the little machine and spend all the time you need to ensure that you understand how to use it. I even asked him about testing weight lifters and body builders. He said all that information is taken into consideration by the clinic.

You wear it for 2 nights and then they come and picks it up and delivers it to the Doctors at the clinic along with his notes. The results are mailed to your physician and you are advised of the results. Guess what? No sleep apthnia. Well within the normal ranges. My Doctor said that some of these Doctors working these clinics are not among the top 5, 10, 20 or 100 in their class.

I am seriously considering going back to that clinic and calling that female a quack in public while waving the results in her bloated face.

Sleep apnea isn't a disqualifying condition so no it's not preventing anything.
