It's near I-4, 1025 N. Chestnut Road Lakeland, Not really sure what makes north or south sorry. They were also looking for out and back to Dallas area I was told by a friend today but that wouldn't get you the time to get settled with machine but might be something for when you do??? Not sure about that run, not looking so won't call!! If I was that would be worth the trip if the pay was good enough, I believe the local was hourly at dock and mileage for other, didn't tell me anything about having to unload and it's one pick/drop per load.

Chestnut Rd is West Lakeland. Sunco has always had a location over there. Didn't know about Watkins unless they're affiliated with Sunco. Close to my Alma mater Kathleen High.

Back when I was working as an engineer (of the non-railroad variety), my boss "suggested" that I have a sleep study done. I knew that the cause of my being tired at work was because of a problem with my back; whenever I rolled flat on my back for more than a few minutes, I would wake up from the pain.

I had the sleep study done. (It was covered by my insurance; just a clip on my finger overnight while I slept at home.) I had an AHI (apnea-hypopnea index) of 20; 4 or less is considered "normal".

It took me a week or so to get used to the machine, but the difference was incredible. Co-workers (who didn't know about the CPAP) commented that I looked better, but they couldn't say why. I actually lost a bit of weight, without even trying.

I put over 32,000 hours on that first machine before I had to retire it. I needed to get a machine that did logging for compliance. 14 years after being diagnosed, I can't sleep more than 15-20 minutes if I don't have my machine.

Then vote out the clowns that have taken up lifetime residence in Washington...

Watkins has always owned Sunco, was his reefer division, recently they started with company drivers again and named it back to family name. Also trying out the lease purchase thing too but from what I hear that's only if you asked for it.

Do you also believe that diabetes and high blood pressure is a scam? I have sleep apnea, use a CPAP, and no one in the trucking industry has made a penny off of me because of it. Can you explain to me why it is a scam?

You've been trucking for a week, lol.

Sleep apnea isn't a scam, obviously. Trucking companies forcing machines on people is. Once a company "diagnoses" you, you don't have a choice for a second opinion if you want to keep your job.

Oh, I have only been" Trucking for a week!" So you can disregard my previous 24 year work history? My degree? My medical knowledge on sleep apnea? Get over yourself son. Your previous posts show you have an axe to grind. Telling every man that you see post that he has been diagnosed with sleep apnea to avoid getting treatment is ridiculous. As a company driver you follow their rules. If you don't like the company you work for, leave it. Staying and complaining everyday is absurd. Not every driver for Crete is forced to use a machine. Only those diagnosed with sleep apnea. And there is the ability to test back out if you do not have it anymore, same as you can come off blood pressure medication if you take the steps necessary to get healthier. Good luck with your soapbox.

You may have 20 years on me, but you're definitely the naive one here.

There's a big difference between a doctors diagnosis and a company doc selling you a machine.

Get off your trainers truck, then tell us how these companies work.

Says the guy still wearing the machine the company doc sold him. You need to live by your convictions.

The DOT is not requiring the sleep apnea test to pass your physical yet. Crete, like walmart, must be trying to get ashead of the curve.Other companies will not require the cpap tp work for them but be aware...if you need it, might as well get it dialed in as the requirement is coming down the pike.

Do a couple of different testing facilities...not al are created equal:biggrin_25513:

I beleive there is a scam going on also. Companies make a lot of money selling you a cpap and weekly monitoring. Just about all of our drivers sent for a test are being put on cpap. The majority of them report having more difficulty sleeping now than before the cpap.
