What is the deal with this? If your neck measures 17" or bigger they make you do a sleep apnea test?

Mine measures 16". I just measured it out of boredom...

much nicer FULLY RESTED guy with my machine than without it.

I think there are other flags that must be present as well to order the test. But then again if they chose to , they could legally make it a condition of employment.

Allen, have you seen the idling exemption for CPAP users? I swear I saw 40% time allowed. Which means approx 8 hrs a night? When I was out with TE , we (both trainees) slept in a hotel all but 2 nights. Both nights I ended up starting the truck cuz the low batt shut down worked. I just made TE aware , who in turn informed his DBL so it didnt count against him.

A physician can make you test for any reason he wants to . Yes , some do mandate testing based solely on neck size or BMI

Do they make you pay for the sleep test, or do they help pay for it, or what?

How the heck do they expect someone with no job to be able to afford it?

Allen would be better able to answer that one I think. I was diagnosed independently well before getting hired on. As I understand it though, They will take care of it.

SNI pays for it. If you ad diagnosed with sleep apnea, you will get a loaner machine until your insurance kicks in at which time the new machine is paid by insurance at 100%. SNI isn't out to make money off of their drivers, unlike Prime. SNI just wants SAFE DRIVERS.

fyi, they pay for the sleep test. they pay for the cpap machine. for the first month or so you have to put a modem/transmitter on the machine so the 3rd party opertor can moniter your usage %'s and also adjust the settings remotely until they are at satisactory levels. after that period you take off the modem and the microscope is taken out of your butt. after 2 years of service the machine is yours to keep. if you leave b4 that you have to either turn it in in good working order or pay a prorated amount for the machine based on your time of servoce (hence, if ur there a year and a half you have to pay 25% of the cost for the machine if u want to keep it). sorry for the wall of text, sitting at a shipper getting loaded and typing on the qualcom LOL

So there's no truth in having to use it at least 4hours a night and there's tatel tell set up that records it for sni to spy on your sleeping habits
