After some time you won’t be able to sleep unless your wife jumps up and down on the bed and makes Truck noises

Earplugs work great but I was always paranoid I wouldn’t here my alarm going off so I didn’t sleep either way.

Sleeping while the truck is rolling is usually temporary for most folks as they will eventually go solo, unless they team. One way you can get a good night sleep is to make sure you work hard throughout the day so that at night time you feel tired and can fall asleep despite the noise. For truckers, this means driving all your 11, and rolling right after your 10hr break. This should keep new drivers tired and ready for some good sleep.

I've been having a lot of problems getting a good night's sleep.

The truck that I have the APU comes on and off I don't know at least six or eight times a night and wakes me up every time it goes on and then if I'm lucky enough to have fallen asleep by time it goes off and wakes me up again when it goes off. I mean it shakes the truck when it turns off.

I called the shop today they said that shouldn't go on near that many times at night they say that I've got bad batteries.

I hope that's it because right now I'm idling this f*** and I ain't never going to not idle until it's fixed.

Screw their idling ratio. I need sleep. I'm not getting enough sleep and it's been almost two and a half months and the only time I get a decent night's sleep is when I'm at home.

The irony is they knew this truck had bad batteries. They knew there was problems with the Apu in this truck.

It took me four times into the company shop to get a simple windshield leak fixed. I mean what the hell.

    Drivers are cheap, and replaceable.

Foam earplugs are your friend. Only noise that ever bothered me was those infernal back up beepers -
Hate Em ! Fortunately not many trucks have em.

Leave the little window open on sleeper. The carbon monoxide from Truck next doors APU will put you to sleep.

Don’t worry about it. If you’re on ELOGS you will be well rested. If you have Elogs and an automatic transmission? You’ll feel like Rip Van Winkle you will be so rested.
