Does it….does it make that crackling noise from back pressure like on a pickup?
Or does it actually quiet it down some.

Awwww way to disappoint the redneck side of me lol but I doubt the ole glass pack would last long if it’s a dirty old oil burner.

The idea of a guy intentionally putting a loud exhaust on a reefer and running it all night start/stop seemed humorous.....

"I got my souped up reefer with Monza exhaust running full bore all night down at the J"

Granted some Carrier units seem like that already, lol

Some of em are loud, but it’s only funny to think about. I’d be pissed if some cser came and parked next to me with it set to cycle on and off.
“BRAPAPAPAPAPA” every couple hours yeah I’d probably get a little ignorant over that lol

    I never really noticed.

There was one time, and one time only, I moved to a different spot because a truck next to me keep releasing air about every minute or so. I didn't time it, but it was enough I took notice, then it started wearing on my nerves. Otherwise I haven't really heard any constant noise that bothered me.

I pull refer and will park next to one as often as I can, for a bunch of reasons. It's white nose. Parking next to an old nose truck is 10,000 time more noisy than a refer. APU's are noisy. The engines who rev up to between 10 and 20 thousand RPM's every 25 second's are the worst.

I sleep well most of the time. I pull reefer so I'm used to the noise. I try to park as far away from other trucks because I know how annoying the noise can be. Sometimes I have a really loud reefer and it'll annoy me so I play a 10hr rain video and just turn the volume up.
I made the mistake of parking next to a bull hauler once..just once. If someone else's truck is still too loud, I'll just move if it bothers me enough.
I prefer smaller mom n pop truck stops for many reasons. I seldom park at the big ones. Just go there to fuel.
