Hey guys! I made it this far! I was freaking out about the CDL school experience and now here I am. I'm OTR with my trainer but we're in sleeper berth mode. I've never slept on the truck and we are bobtailed right now and wow the vibrations on this truck is weird. When I try to fall asleep, it feels weird. I can't describe it. It's like my body wants to fall into a deep sleep really quick or something. Is this normal? I am a young guy, I do not have any sleep issues medically speaking.

Sleep in the truck and not on it! You'll sleep better. :)

Once I got used to the APU in my trainers trucks I slept better than at home. My first couple of weeks not in a truck after I went local I slept like crap.

Wait until the reefer kicks in and the guy parked next to you without an APU is idling and your parked near the fuel island, you will get used to it all in a very short period.

Concentrate on learning all you can... the sleep will come.

I slept well my first time in the truck. Our first truck stop was the flyingpilot in Lodi, OH. When I awoke, the first reaction was I am really on the road and no turning back. You'll get used to it.
