This works in any Freightliner I have been in, just pull the seat belt all the way out and lop it through the inside door handle, across the seat and latch it into the catch, it should be just long enough to reach, if you want to tighten it up, lower the seat, if it's a bit short, raise the seat. I used to use a ratchet strap, but this is always handy. it will also keep your door shut if the latch should fail, but then you wouldn't have the seatbelt to use to secure you in the seat.

I try to park at well lit areas, unless they are not available, sometimes you end up using the old concrete plant site to park, usually you aren't the only one there, either.

Tying the doors shut might keep the bad guys out, but, it might also keep you in if you were in hurry to get out (FIRE!!!). I do it, but rarely.

I use the seatbelts to secure the doors if the area is extremely risky, like the Vince Lombardi service plaza in north Jersey.

To me, the highest risk occurs when you are out of the truck, say walking to and from the truck stop, down the street to a restaurant, or just outside taking care of the truck. Inside the truck you are a bigger threat to a would be mugger.

In another thread a poster mentioned boiling a batch of potent peppers, then mixing the liquid portion of the pepper "soup" with ammonia and carrying the mixture in a spray bottle with you in the truck. You call it "cleaner" to avoid possible hassles of being in possession of Mace, or pepper spray which are illegal in some jurisdictions. Squirt that into the face of an intruder, and you should buy yourself enough time to finish him off with a tire-billy.

Yes, that is my preference, as well. Much more direct and to the point. However, I spend a lot of time in the Northeast, and in chemical plants and terminals. I just hold my breath and hope for the best because I don't have any spare time to sit in a box to satisfy the anti-gun crowd..

Get one of them NRA or Gun Owners of America Stickers and put them in the windows. Glock also might send a message.

Keep the blinds closed all time, even leave some lights on if you have a middle divider and can block out the excess from the bunk area.

And a good dog works pretty good for detecting movement onto your truck.
