it may be the ground... check it, make sure the mount is grounded, or try grounding the antenna to the mount... im sure people are gonig to get more in depth on grounding.... but i have a wilson silver load with the "slide tune" it works great, ive got my dual antennas tuned to around 1.1

definitely a ground issue.....failed to mention i do slipseat often seems each truck gets different swr readings all ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 reason why i was thinkin bout the slide tune. you seeing 1.1 is that an accurate swr measurement? just curious if the slide tune gonna take any transmit power from radio?

Yes its accurate, SWR is not a locked number in a mobile set up.. it will jump a little higher sometimes, but for the most part its around 1.1 to 1 Take any transmit power? it wont require any extra power, the better tuned the antenna is the better transmit and receive you will have

if you keep having ground issues and slip seat you might spring for a no ground antenna you have to use the coax that comes with the antenna but then you never have to worry about grounding. just tuning it up.
