I doubt it would lower my resale value since it is still going to be setup to go back to a air slider at any point. Right now the one that is on there is useless since I cannot rebuild it and they do not make a replacement for it. As far as the sleeper it works fine for regional applications. 5 days on the road in a flat-top is no big deal. I actually prefer a smaller cab and sleeper. Those big condo's make to much noise and too many squeaks going down the road and are horrible in windy conditions. But everybody has their likes and dislikes. I don't need to be able to do jumping jacks in my sleeper. It's called a sleeper for a reason, it's for sleeping. The condo's are called that for a reason, cuz the driver who has one usually lives in it for weeks at a time on the road. No thanks

I have never slid a fifth wheel in 8 years of trucking, set it properly and your steers and drives should always be balanced.

Don’t give advice on something you don’t know. Running the Midwest/rustbelt pulling flats you don’t live in your truck for extended periods. Aging condos go cheap up here and usually the Mexicans buy them and get the tops hacked down into flat tops or mid roofs. Talk about an ugly pos!

Unless it is a Volvo. Then they sell for big bucks because the eastern Europeans fight over them like crazy. Then they pull containers with the light up Michelan man on the visors lol.

Going to a stationary I would shave off about 50# according to Fontaines website. If I went with an aluminum plate I would save another 125#.

Correct on the weight. Though I doubt weight is an issue in your case. Mine, weight is big issue consider my bobtail alone is over 24K.

Yeah, with my tanks full and all my equipment I am at 22,000 bobtail. I can scale 45,000# on a 13,000# step.

:biggrin_2554::biggrin_2554::biggrin_2554: Haven't priced a truck lately have we? Doesn't matter if it's A WesterStar, KW or Pete if it's a flat top it won't sit long on a lot.
