CHR is hit or miss. Out of Cali it seems to be all miss. Their rates in the midwest are pretty solid though. Their freight going to northeast from midwest is often $4-5 per mile. At least from what i have seen so far this year.

    Don't know about this....
Got offered a load that pays $3K from SO-CAL to Ft. Collins....But the broker says his customer requires a $5 million coverage on the Liability....:biggrin_2556:

It's going to be standard here soon. Most of my customers require it and I'll tell ya the premium isn't fun to come up with.

Not for me.....About year ago a contractor working on the Santa Ana River Flood Control Project offered me loads from Corona to their yard in Anaheim for $100/h with a six hour per day minimum...And that part of the project was supposed to last at least a month and half....
Only problem was....They wanted $5 million on the Liability...

My insurance broker said it could be done....But......My premiums would jump to over $25,000 a year.....Not worth it for a short time job....Or even one load....

So...I suppose your customers would have no problem with $10/m rates on a 1000 mile run?

It's not just out in CA, try $1.56 for a 10' wide 40,000lbs RGN load from NC to Seattle.:biggrin_25513:
