Inbound and outbound rates should be pretty fat next year. If the rates are fat, a lot of the people who refused to buy carb compliant trucks will be buying carb compliant trucks....We'll have a window to work some magic, till they break the spell and come pouring in....

I'm with you there, gotta find something that narrows down the pool of available trucks.

A $1.40pm average? It's no wonder why CA based trucks all look ratty. For those rates you can lease to a Mega and not pay for plates, permits, or cargo/ liability and probably NET more income at the end of the year.

With guys like you hauling light loads for nothing rates will always be in the toilet, CARB or not. Is it any wonder they always try to sell lightweight loads as "you'll get good fuel mileage" when charitable drivers will fall for it?

I get almost 4 bucks a mile on every confirm regardless of length of haul lots of one pick one drop dry van freight. Some of it heavy the majority of it light. Sometimes even do easy multi-stop loads that other "drivers" can't hack. You think I am dumb-fool enough to show you confirmations? I only work 6-7 months out of the year as it is why would I put myself out of work entirely to someone who gladly runs for half my rates?
