Ever since my motor (C15) was inframed last fall I've had a slow drip from the overflow when the motor is running. It never did that before. Leave it running 30 minutes it'll make a damp spot on the ground about the size of a silver dollar. Leave it running several hours 5 or 6 and it'll be about 6-10' in diameter. It's not a lot of coolant but it ought not drip any imo. What could cause that? New radiator cap fix it or could it be something worse?

The cap would be the 1st thing to try. Cheapest first.

I know you know this, but make sure you replace that cap with the same LB rated cap that came off of it.

Yeah I think it's a 12 but I'll call and make sure. Where the heck have you been hiding?

On my 98' 3406E Cat I have a 7psi rad cap...

Try a pressure test, replace the cap just for grins.

We replace our caps once a year in AZ, wouldnt hurt to do it but if that does not do it, put a small (one qt) catch can on the end and see if it sucks it back in after it cools. Make sure the catch can has a hose going to the bottom of it.
rollin coal Thanks this.
