My opinions just aren't typical, not just in trucking. Kinda "against the grain" u could say
Slow trucks justified with money

well i have the best safety rating at my company
drive the most miles
and am second in fuel mileage
i also dont tailgate but I mostly drive in wide open spaces of WY UT NV
and I went 62 all day today but can go 75 anytime i want
where i disagree is that if i get in an accident at 68 it will hurt less then 58
post 64 of yours is just drivel
speed isn't the problem it is the way drivers drive
you are correct that common sense isnt commonTruckDuo and Rick Brown Thank this. -

I still think if your running 58 and I'm running, say 70, and the speed limit is 75 an the flow of traffic is basically running the speed limit. That your way more of a hazard that I am at 70 or 75. Just because your driving slower doesn't make it safer.

i have disc brakes on tractor and trailer
so i am also not on fire going down 80 into SLCTruckDuo, Rick Brown and AndrewH Thank this. -

What if a four wheeler runs into the rear end of a prime truck doing 58 mph and the four wheeler is doing 75 ?
You always have to consider a lot of different factors. Following distances, stopping distances. All I'm saying is I can drive my truck the speed limit an be just as safe an sometimes safer than you can at 58 mph. I do it everyday an have been for several years.Raiderfanatic and AndrewH Thank this. -
Arkansas Thanks this.
