Last year and this year right after July 4 flatbed tanks hard.
March, April, May, June is the big bucks.
I've seen many lanes rates cut 30-50% between June and August. It's that big of difference after July 4th.
Winter with flatbed can do okay if you stay in the cold states because nobody wants to go there.
South states in winter you won't survive.
Too many trucks chasing $1 per mile loads to avoid snow.
