SLT - Secured Land Transport

This is an excellent company to work for and it just drives me crazy to see when drivers are terminated how they can bash the company.

 

There were 2 other teams that had previously been hauling DOD loads for years and had all their clearances and they were making the same $695 we were. Explain that?

 

You also said that you are o/o now! So of course you are making good money.

 

Are we bashing when we stated what happened to us? We were terminated at the same time we chose to quit.
You cannot count per diem as pay. Our payroll settlement showed that we were being paid $150 a day in one section and then another section showed the $55. Making it look like we were being paid $150 + $55. Very deceptive if you ask me. The totals don't make sense. And when asked about per diem, having an SLT employee tell you to LIE on your IRS forms is insane! But it happened!

 

You were not making $695/week. You were making $1050/week, yes some of it was per diem, but it was still going to your pocket. And I would like to see another company that pays you $1050 per week without the required credentials for running under 2400 miles per week. Your statement is misleading. They probably didn't have their TWIC card yet.

The $55 per diem is untaxed income. You could choose not to receive it and have the whole $150 taxed. I received the same settlements and understood exactly what it meant.

 

But, we made very good money as company drivers. I'm responding to the comments as my experience as a company driver.

 

So what's the pay after you get the DOD clearance ?
