It took a long time to put the weight on and it takes a long time to take it off right. So don't feel discouraged if the numbers ain't what you expected. I wouldn't look at it like a diet, but a reprogramming of your brain of eating what's right and living a healthier lifestyle. The weight will take care of itself in time.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Eating a slow carb diet is the best way to lose the weight, and to keep it off. That way, you have a scheduled cheat day once a week. You can eat whatever you want, once a week, and it HELPS you lose weight. Also, you'll see bigger, quicker losses on the slow carb diet(which is a way of life, not a temporary way of eating).
However, if I could recommend 3 things to you, which are quite easy, and NOT the slow carb diet, they are as follows:
1) Upon waking drink 500ml of ice cold water. And yes, I do mean ice cold. This causes the body to use it's internal thermogenics, and is highly effective.
2) 10 minutes after the ice water, eat a high protein meal(30grams of protein, or more.
3) When taking showers, after soaping up, turn off the hot water, and rinse off with straight cold(or as cold as you can handle...not what is comfortable, but as cold as you can possibly handle). Once rinsed off, then turn your back to the shower, and have the cold water run over your upper back and neck area for a good 10-15 minutes. If you want, I can get into the geek stuff behind how thus works to burn more fat. Also, as an even better alternative once at home, take 20-30 minute ice baths.
These are 3 simple, little things, that can make fat loss happen a lot faster.SheepDog, cholosgirl, CadetTrucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I've flatlined a bit. I was on one scale that mislead me at 307, when every other scale has me at 321-322. Haven't been home in a while to compare to a scale that I know that is accurate.
Feel a lot better. Walked for 4.8 miles a few days ago. Was down in the heat of Texas last week and walked over 2 miles midday. I think part of the weight number is that I'm gaining some muscle mass, so the lost fat doesn't show up on the scale. Walking, even for really long distances is nothing now.Rattlebunny Thanks this. -
Time to start jogging my friend...

If you don't have a prepared suspension for it, you'll end up injuring yourself, which will set you back even further. Work up to it gradually, and correctly, and it can do wonders for you. -

This works! I have lost 50 lbs in the last 80 days with the slow carb diet. Here is a good tip: on your cheat day, start with 8 oz of grapefruit juice. Also, if you do cheat, do some air squats for 60-120 seconds. Both have something to do with opening up receptors in your muscles and will put the calories into them instead of your fat stores. Ice packs on upper chest and back of neck for 30 min a day is also good.TheHealthyDriver Thanks this. -
The problem with the BP meds, like the diabetes meds and cholesterol meds is that they have side effects of weight gain. Try a natural way- fiber therapy. I've used it with many drivers. A combo of 5 different soluble and insoluble fibers will lower the bp, block fat, lower the bad cholesterol, and make you feel full so you won't eat as much!

All exercise does is reduce your blood sugar level. Lowering your blood sugar then allows your body to burn fat for that breif window when you are exercising, then when you are done, you go drink a gator aid and jack up your blood sugar again preventing your body from burning fat. Sure you can lose weight this way, but it is a huge waste of time and effort.
When ones blood sugar is high, the body burns sugar and stores fat.
Don't jack up your blood sugar, then you wont need to exercise.
When you have high blood sugar all the time from your 128 oz big gulp this is why you are getting fatter by the hour.
This is simple stuff that your personal trainer will never tell you because he would be out of a job. -
