Good luck with Marten. I had some good times there. Desoto yrd is pretty nice. just 2 yrs old. Its the same as Atlanta. Just don't go to Laredo. have to stay on the yard and its hard to get loads out. I was regional but got quite a few long runs. That was the good thing about my DM. If it wasn't for the fleet manger being deceptive and DM being dismissive, I probably would still be there. People in payroll were nice, too.

I always see you guys parked across the street from Mars foods in Hackettstown NJ. I live over there. I just saw a guy hanging out over there for like 2 days. I was going to see if he wanted a coffee or something but he had the curtain drawn lol.

Yeah, with those miles you're gonna have a nice paycheck. First time in awhile that i had to wait on some loads. I sat for a total of three days this week. They gave me $300.00 layover pay, the other 4 days i ran hard, so i should see a decent check.

i was at martin about 6 years ago.it was an ok company.you get ok miles the only think i did'nt care for was they don't do to well fixing things.had me sent to all their terminals and still could'nt fix my truck.had me sitting in mondovi for 6 days in the dead of winter.was'nt allowed to idle truck and only got me a room on the last nite in town.my checks ranged from 600 to 900 but i did have 4 years they gave me credit for when i went.all in all it was'nt so bad.but do watch out and cover your ### because they WILL ding your dac with bs that is'nt true....just my 2 cents.

I was with a mega carrier now moving to Marten. I realize everyone has their own view on each organization, that's the awesome thing about the United States (I am medically retired from the Army.)

Receiving an actual offer/approval letter from a company is not common in this industry so far I am pleased but still reserved on my expectations. I leave for Phoenix this Sunday for orientation. In lieu of the Grey Dog I am being flown there as my recruiter actually looked at the hours (18 or 19) on the Dog. Again, I am pleasantly surprised. My biggest concern, how clean/detailed the inside will be once issued a truck? Washing the truck is easy, but getting someone else's germs/funk is more important. I will keep posting updates as time allows.

My former employer kept theirs to run at 61 mph. What are the Marten units governed at?

    Have a safe trip!!

They clean the trucks up pretty good before you get it. Trucks are governed at 65. They got a nice orientation room at the phoenix yard. You do most of your stuff on these new computers they got. Also the driver lounge is comfortable with some big cushy chairs and big screen tv. But, they don't have any showers last time I was there. The yard it self is dirt.
