Small cam Cummins cam follower gaskets

Call ATL Diesel. They are in the cam business. Surely they can set you up with gaskets.

 

I’m walking out to the shop now, think I have some small cam follower gaskets I’ll never use….

 

Not sure what the setting is that you are looking for, but if memory serves me, it’s like .007 of gasket makes .002 change on your injector timing reading….

 

What timing spec are you trying to get to? The measurement is taken at .203 before tdc.

 

When you set the gasket and follower in place, install at least 3 bolts in the follower and tighten them up, don’t have to be torqued, just tight. 1 bolt in the front at top, 1 in center at bottom, 1 in rear at top. Or you can put all 6 in. Just make sure the bolts are snugged up tight.

Hang the gaskets on the dowels in the block to hold them in place, don’t use any silicone to hold them while making adjustments finding the desired thickness…
