Hi, I work for a small company trying to create an application that will change the LTL industry. We're looking for a few minutes of your time.
Our application is designed to automatically select and sequence LTL loads filling empty space between loads you already have on your trucks itinerary.
We have been working on our system for some time and we finally have something pretty amazing to show the world. The system isnt quite ready for prime time yet because we still need a lot of feedback and have a lot of testing to do but we are able to automatically create itineraries and ask people what they think. Thats where wed like your help and advice. We want to know whats good and bad directly from the mind of the people wholl be out on the roads. We would really appreciate your honesty.
Below is one of the itineraries weve automatically generated using fake load data (that data will eventually be provided by LTL freight brokers). If you dont mind, take a look and tell us what you think:
A dispatcher or Owner Operator would provided us with a little bit of information like this:
- Itinerary Type: Round Trip from Akron, OH
- Trailer Type: 53 ft Dry
- Current LTL Loads (ones we didnt find): 1 load of 7 pallets from Cleveland, OH to Flint, MI
- Maximum Requested Mileage: This individual is willing to drive an extra 99 miles, 610 in total
(Baseline Map - 511 total miles, 248 deadhead miles)
We generated this itinerary in about a minute:
(I know, Google Maps arent truck directions but well get there eventually)
- Itinerary Sequence
- Map Note: Points A & H are Home
Itinerary Overview:
- We automatically found 3 additional loads
- Load B on itinerary sequence was the only load we did not locate. We filled in around it.
- Deadheading was reduced from 248 miles (48%) to 44 miles (7%)
- Total mileage went from 511 to 608 adding less than 100 miles to the overall itinerary
Tell us what you think. Were happy to answer any questions you have.
All the best.
