Small plane pilot lands at truck stop

I said it once and I’ll say it again,if you want to scare a pilot tell them this magic sentence:
“There’s an FAA inspector who wants to speak with you!!”

 

“Local authorities have been looking into the matter, ensuring that while the event was unprecedented, it did not pose any immediate danger to the community.”

I personally got a laugh out of what he did. I’m sure it’s not his first or last time doing it..Probably just one of those lunatic crop duster pilots out for a spin in the family plane.

 

Either way the FAA takes such matters seriously-they’ve scrambled F-16s for less!
They’ll definitely look at his flight plan.
And heaven help him if he was flying without the transponder activated!

 

I suspect that they don’t give a crap

People need to lighten up, stop trying to take the fun out of living.

 

He got tired of waiting for flying cars that we were supposed to have decades ago

 

Thats a good resturant. Theres laundry machines and tv room. And parking lot is big enough to leave a plane

That was an Aeronca 7AC. It might not have even had an electrical system, let alone a radio or a transponder.
I know where there are two J-3s and a 450 Stearman without any of that stuff. I don't think either one has ever had a radio and I know for sure they don't have an electrical system or a starter. They fly every week but they're careful about where they go. And they sure don't land on busy roads where somebody can take their picture.
The Stearman has two instruments that work, an oil pressure gauge and an oil temp gauge, and they're mounted on the trailing edge of the center section.
