One thing I just can not hack (at 5'10") is having my seat way down. I feel like I give up WAY too much visibility down there!

I had my right knee giving me fits when I started. But all the climbing in and out of my truck and many trailers make me feel better!

18 years driving, started in what 92-93. Come talk to me in another 18 years, when you get some real experience. What Im saying all the bells and whistles, is a distraction for the newbies. What there focus should be is how to handle the truck, and perfect the art of backing up. You need another 2 years for me to even consider arguing with you.

You see folks that is the problem with fellas like this. He thinks nothing has changed and is probably still longing for the days of yesteryear. Pathetic if you ask me. Time to get with the times or get left behind.

Joined july 2010, to this forum, Started Truck Driving, 1974. And I do have the privelage to say (I seen it all, been there, done that.) 37 years of driving is earned not given. I love this industry. LOL

Dang Wargames, you've been in the industry about as long as my dad has.

And he is probably one of the best drivers still driving. The Veteran drivers are retiring. Sit down with him, have a cup of coffee, and listen to some of the stories he has. My dad started driving in 1948. My uncle started about the same time and the stories they would talk about, I still remember. Thanks Lilbit.

Oh, I hear my dad's stories on a regular basis. He actually retired about 5 years ago or so, but still has the license. He's told me some pretty good ones! He's the reason I started driving. He didn't teach me, but he told me enough of the stuff to watch out for!

Most of the guys i work with have over 40 years driving, and are Vietnam Vets. Heck myself and 2 others have the least amount of driving years. Before you know it, You`ll have 20 years driving. I hope your dad is enjoying his retirement. I be joining him soon.
