Booking your own loads, the only reason I could see you being leased on with a company: Insurance is keeping you from getting your own numbers? At least with your own ##s if a broker doesn't pay, you go after their bond.
With this company it appears to me you have no recourse, especially with no contract and even then you would have to take them to court. If it were me and I was making no head way via phone, it would be time to pay the office a visit, take in all your paperwork and get your $1672 or find out why you haven't been paid and when you will be paid. Also, get a copy of your contract with them. Sounds like some shady sh** starting to happen, or it simply is a situation where they are having some cash flow issues. Either way, they should be able to provide you a reasonable explanation, and they at minimum owe you that!
Beyond that, start looking for another company (if you don't want to get your own authority) so when the time comes, you can leave. Or if you have $$ saved, get your $$ owed then see ya!
SMH .. do you know my feeling??
