Smokers face a hit as tobacco taxes spike

i THINK, in Fl. anyway, that you have to have to pay more for insurance or something to ride without a "brain bucket"
who the heck wants to be picking bugs out their teeth anyways LOL

 

Am a smoker. We pay more for smokes than in NY. Our packs (for years) have had pictures on them of smokers lungs, children who are affected, bad hearts, teeth with gingivites, and all kinds of warnings. We can't smoke in restaurantes or bars. New law that we can't smoke in car with children.

My husband (American) says thats the price for free healthcare.

As much as I complain about price and laws....its worth it in the end.

We are both trying to quit.

 

Yes , you have a right to do this to yourself .

 

What about chewing tobacco?

 

Personal choice as well.

But it creates alot of health concerns as well.

Take a look at some of the cancers in the mouth and the long term effect of the chew.

 

I go to the dentist every six months... so, far.. so, good.

Yes, any tobacco product can't be good for your over all health.

What gets me is the dems are supposed to be for the working man. Does the smoker tax help the poor? Did the tax applied prior really stop people from smoking? Will this actually stop people? Some will quit but most won't and THEY KNOW THIS!

This is just to seperate you from more of your money. No one thinks smoking is good for you, never have. It's an addiction and now it costs about as much as smoking weed. It's ridiculous! Why don't they just outlaw tobacco? Because they make too much money!

What's with the outrageous cost of the new electronic smokeless cigarette? Democrats SUCK! Just wait until they put a tax on something you non-smokers enjoy!

Smokers don't cost healthcare more money for the simple fact that EVERYONE DIES! If you're a smoker you'll probably just die younger. What about the people that live healthy lifestyles yet still die of heart disease and cancer etc?
